Mussels, eels, lobsters or bouillabaisse in a family restaurant in Bruges between the Burg and the Markt.
Renowned and ideally located between the Burg and the Markt, this family-run restaurant has been delighting tourists and Bruges locals alike for over half a century. The dining room, in a pretty setting featuring a large central aquarium and pretty fish lamps, is often packed. Specialties include mussel casseroles (some of the best in town), eels and lobster (from the fish tank at the entrance to the restaurant). The bouillabaisse is succulent. The wine list is carefully selected by the owner. Don't forget to book, as this is a sought-after address.

Mussels were not good and not cleaned properly - the waiter told us at the end that it was normal because it is not mussels season (of course didn’t say it before ordering…)
Pay attention, no free bread if you do not order drinks, and no tap water
Quality of service not up to standard and not up to menu prices
Do not recommend

Cuisine moyenne mais suffisante pour ce genre d'endroit touristique.
But mussels I had — the main reason I went — were underwhelming. I ordered the mussels in lemon grass and it tasted like they’d just been dipped in water.
Would try a more gritty place for a good local flavor.
