Restaurant 't Schrijverke is located in the historic heart of Bruges, in the shadow of the Church of Our Lady. Founded in 1970 by the Couckuyt family, it was taken over in 1990 by their children Patriek and Linda. Since 2018, the third generation has been represented by Simon Couckuyt, who is the head chef. The restaurant offers contemporary cuisine with a regional touch, and the menu is also enriched with seasonal suggestions. The restaurant does not offer takeaway or delivery. In fine weather, you can enjoy a regional beer, coffee or delicious waffle on the terrace.

The salad we ordered was very good. Though the Augratin we ordered was not to the mark, it was too gooey gooeey.

Essen schlecht und maßlose Preise. Das gilt aber wohl für die meisten Restaurants in Brügge

I thought the grey hair glasses "big man" was fairly racist - very clearly noticed him speak to every white person with a smile but made sneering remarks at us just for us asking "can we sit at any table outside".
