Mounds and rock forms in Valley of Fire State Park constituting fossilized wood from a forest
At the east and west entrances to the park, you can discover mounds and rock forms made from the fossilized wood of a forest that grew there 225 million years ago. To the east of the Visitor Center, the road leads to some interesting geological formations. A few hundred metres further on, you can branch off towards the "cabins". These are the remains of the Valley of Fire's first tourist facilities, built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Pas un arrêt incontournable, seulement si on a le temps... Pas un spécimen remarquable, et l'encadrement avec des barrières métalliques gâche un peu la vue!
