Hole-in-the-Wall trail through a cactus maze and an area ravaged by a forest fire in 2005
The Mojave National Preserve offers many trails of varying difficulty. The Castle Peaks Corridor is a 12.8 km round trip and offers magnificent views of the Castle Peaks. On a completely different note, the Mid Hills To Hole-in-the-Wall trail is a traverse through a maze of cacti (golden barrel and cholla) that joins the Hole-in-the-Wall trail. This 25.6 km trail is reserved for experienced hikers and it is best to leave early in the morning.
