AVAN SALT MINE

There's no shortage of salt in the experience... If you're interested in a cure at the bottom of a salt mine, go to the one in Avan, north of Yerevan. Some 60 rooms have been set up for those taking the cure in the lake of galleries, with minimum comfort, billiard rooms... and medical check-ups. Not the luxury of the famous Romanian mine, but the formula pleases, because the bill is not too salty. As elsewhere in the East, here salt is believed to have healing properties... The mine is still in operation, but the curists and miners do not cross paths. An unusual place that can be visited without staying there.
