Church dating from 1695, located between the Sevan-Tbilissi freeway and the Botanical Garden, featuring a lantern, three naves...
It rises on a hill in Kanakér, which was just a village at the beginning of the 20th century, and is now part of the northern suburbs of Yerevan, between the Sevan-Tbilisi highway and the Botanical Garden. The Church of St. James, dated 1695, is a long building with three naves and a gabled roof, where the dome is replaced by a very small lantern with openwork columns. The three-arched porch that preceded the building has disappeared, but the arches have remained on the façade.
