YEREVAN KOTCHAR MUSEUM
A museum showcasing the major works of the great artist Yérvant Kotchar: sculptures, drawings and paintings.
We can see major works by this great artist, a disciple of Picasso, who lived for 11 years in Paris in the 1920s and 1930s, where he rubbed shoulders with Braque, Arp, Léger, Miro, Sonia and Robert Delaunay, Calder, Chirico. Hailed as the "father of modern Armenian art", he is dear to the hearts of the people of Yerevan, who owe the symbol of their city to him. The equestrian statue of the mythical hero Sassounstsi Tavit, Yervant Kotchar (1889-1979) is better known for his sculptures than for his drawings and paintings, which can be seen in this museum, along with his personal objects.
