In the south of the Republic's place (this is in the area of the French Embassy), under the impressive and graceful silhouette of the new Yerevan Cathedral, Sourp Grigor Loussavoritch (Saint Gregory the Illuminator), extends to the popular districts of Yerevan, inhabited by an activity generated by the many small shops and crafts, plus one.' advance on the long avenue Tigrane Medz. The avenue continues until the station square, called Sassountsi Tavit, because of the equestrian statue of the Armenian epic hero due to the Soviet sculptor Yérvand Kotchar (1959), which has done so much for the Yerevan statuary. Around the statue, the train station, the bus station and a market attract a lot of people living with shortcuts and small jobs. By extending this long artery, we arrive at a small hill dominated by the remains of the ancient city of Erébouni. That was where Yerevan was born…
