This small church dating from 1220 is located in a former cemetery and is said to have been built by a Muslim emir who converted to Christianity
A few meters beyond the monastery, the small church of the Holy Resurrection (Sourp Haroutioun), dated 1220, completes the ensemble. Situated in an old cemetery, this charming chapel topped by a slender dome is preceded by a porch whose arches are supported by a thick column. She'd have a funeral role. Legend has it that it was built by a Muslim emir who converted to Christianity out of love for his beauty and for Armenian music.
