BRIDGE OVER THE KAZAKHSTAN

Achtarak's emblematic 1664 bridge over the Kazakh riverbed is one of the most beautiful in the country.
Armenia has preserved only a few works of art that bear witness to its civil architecture before the Soviet era. This bridge spanning the bed of the Kazakh River, a thin stream of water in summer, is one of the most beautiful in the country, and as emblematic of Achtarak as its churches. Built in 1664, at the initiative of the Persians who then dominated the country, this large bridge has three arches in the shape of a warhead. You can still walk along its parapet of large red volcanic stones to connect the two green banks of the city.
