MAUSOLEUM OF RIGHTS
A mausoleum in the village of Aghtsk housing the vault of the Arsacid kings ( century), an ancient monument and more.
If the village of Aghtsk gave it its name, it is in the nearby village of Dzorap that one visits the remains of the Aghts burial complex, which is said to have been built after the Persian campaign of the year 364 to receive the bones of the Arsacid kings. The complex included a two-storey mausoleum betraying Roman influence and three stelae. Only the 4th-century tomb of the Arsacid Kings, the oldest dated monument in Christian Armenia, remains, a thick-walled crypt, one of which, in the form of an arch, is decorated with carved crosses and bas-reliefs.
