ST ASDVADZADZINE CHURCH
This emblematic church is an original building constructed in the century using powerful grey volcanic stone.
The largest church in Gyumri stands out to the north of the central Vartanants square and is the most emblematic. The Asdvadzadzine church, also built in the 19th century, is a vast original building of powerful grey volcanic stones with facades decorated with pilasters. The church is flanked by a high campanile and topped by a vast dome with a parasol roof and two ornate rotundas. The Russian influence is visible even in the interior space, which is particularly large by Armenian standards, with its walls painted in pastel colours.
