DZITOGHTSIAN MUSEUM
Museum of Arts and Traditions to discover the history of Gyumri, Armenia and the lifestyles of the local bourgeoisie
This museum of arts and traditions is housed in a large mansion built in 1872 by a rich family of merchants, the Dzitoghtsians. Its rooms retrace the history of Gyumri and Armenia and links with Russia. In addition to handicrafts, a rich collection of musical instruments and Merkurov's sculptures, it is also a place to discover the lifestyles of the local bourgeoisie. With its elegantly crafted façade that rises to the end of a courtyard defended by a wall and wrought-iron gates, this beautiful house is emblematic of old Gyumri.
