AVETIK ISSAHAKIAN MUSEUM HOUSE
A house-museum paying tribute to Avétik Issahakian by exhibiting the objects that were dear to him, his manuscripts...
The great Armenian writer Avetik Issahakian (1875-1957) of Soviet times was a native of Gyumri, then Alexandropol, but he did not stay long in his hometown, renamed Leninakan, not the Soviets, and died in Yerevan, where he lies in the Gomidas pantheon. Gyumri is nevertheless honoured to have produced the great Armenian poet, to whom this house-museum pays homage by exhibiting objects that were dear to him as well as some of his manuscripts and letters.
