This church, built in 1868 and typical of religious architecture, is a landmark in Shushi.
The Sourp Amenaprkitch Ghazantchétchots Cathedral (of the Holy Saviour) is an emblematic monument of Shushi, of which it occupies the central place, a vast grassy esplanade. Built in 1868, this large church is typical of the religious architecture of the 19th century, with its campanile with an umbrella roof, like the dome. Disused after the wars of 1920, ruined after the fighting of 1992, the Azeris having stored explosives there, it was entirely restored, and is once again the pride of Shushi, with the church of Ganatch Jam, dating from 1847.
