The (Mountains stretch from desert to south of the emirate to the Arabian Gulf coast north of the town of Ras al-At. They are then the main element of the landscape of what becomes the Musandam Peninsula in Oman. The average altitude of the peaks is 1 900 m. The mountain that plunges directly into the Gulf is called locally Ru'us al-Jibal. We are here at the centre of the geological layers between coal and oil deposits.
It is the heart of the Arabian platform that formed during the secondary era over 65 million years ago. These secondary layers are the source of all the riches of the region. By going to the west, the whole plonge deeper and no longer appears on the surface of the earth. The landscape of the mountain mountains offers encaissés encaissés as canyons, where waterfalls and basins are followed by turquoise waters.
