Luxurious, ultra-modern, neoclassical hotel and restaurant in Los Angeles

This sumptuous hotel opened its doors in January 2018, in the building that once housed the Bank of Italy, on the imposing Giannini Place in Downtown. The ultra-modern and neoclassical luxury of this establishment is the result of the collaboration of the French interior designer Jacques Garcia and the Parisian design studio Be-Pôles. Note the ceiling painted in blue tones, in Italian style: it dates back to the construction of the building in the 1920s. A cocktail bar, with creations by the trendy mixologist Leo Robitschek, as well as an Italian restaurant, run by chefs Daniel Humm and Will Guidara, complete this American-Italian dream, for an ultra-hype luxury stay. Its very central geographical location, in a district that is easy to discover on foot, is ideal.

Very nice luxury hotel. Very unique style. Great restaurant on site. Wonderful staff.

Great location and great, historic building. The rooms are small, but nice. The rooftop pool/bar is awesome! Unfortunately, none of this makes up for the extra $110/day you have to pay for staying here and the troubles to get any support on the itemization for these charges. It is 60+tax/night for parking, and 35+tax per night for a 'destination fee' that supposedly gives you credit towards food/bev, plus several other small fees, etc. I called to get an explanation for the $435 extra in charges for my 4 night stay and they were not able to understand the charges either. They put me on hold for 15 minutes. I finally hung up and called back. When they answered, they told me they were working on it and wanted to put me on hold again. I asked if they could just call me back once they figure it out and was told "I can take your number, but I can't guarantee that I will have time to call you back". I really don't care about the money as it is all getting expensed, but I have to understand the charges so I can expense them correctly. There are way too many places to stay in this area to deal with these headaches. For the price plus the extra fees plus the lack of support when you ask for an itemization, it is not worth it.

UPDATE:
It has been 2 full days and I still have not received a call back from the hotel. I have called them every day and get the same "we will call you back" response. I just need an itemization for the charges. This is well past frustrating.

Cute spot on Olive in a great location, walkable to some awesome spots. Rooms are well done but exterior sound is louder than expected. Otherwise a great affordable spot!
