Thank goodness for the Magic Castle hotel! They saved us from a truly terrible stay at the Hollywood Hills Hotel just above their property!

They got us in last minute and were so helpful and kind - carrying our luggage, making sure we were comfortable, and doing it all last minute!

I have stayed here many times and it's such a lovely place that truly cares about their guests. I cannot recommend it more!

The good: The staff was friendly for the most part, location was great, having access to snacks/ice cream/soda/laundry at no additional cost was great. However, it didn't way out the bad.
The bad: The outlet where the heater for the living room where the pull out bed is located had a complete fire hazard. The cord to the heater was completely burned and the outlet where it was plugged in was charred (see pic) I cant imagine what would have happened if I attempted to use this and this was the room my kids were in.
I told the staff and all they said was they were sorry. The nights were really cold and even with multiple blankets it was freezing.
The refrigerator had a lock on it that wouldn’t work and when I told the staff they said they couldn’t have someone look at it until the following day which is when we were checking out so we couldn’t even utilize it. The people directly across from our room left their door open with the TV blaring and arguing throughout the night and when I brought it up to the staff nothing was done.
I booked this place based on the amenities and even with those I would not recommend this place the fact that there was zero concern on the heating issue and fire hazard was enough for me to not go back.

You have to stay here while your littles are still little!! Every staff member was so genuinely nice! They made my child feel so special for his bday- sparkling apple juice served on a tray as soon as he arrived- how cute is that!! They also have an amazing magician walking around on certain days- my 8 year old was impressed with his skills. You can order snacks and swim in the heated salt water pool 24/7. And the Popsicle hotline is super cute, they bring out popsicles on a platter for everyone by the pool when you call. They also have pool toys, goggles, and life vests too. And the laundry service! They will do it for you or you can do it yourself- no quarters needed and the soap is provided too- a lifesaver for packing light on long trips! This used to be apartment buildings so the rooms are super big with full sized fridges, a microwave, and a small stove. And it’s stocked with liquor and mixers if you drink :) it’s also literally up the street from the walk of fame with all the stars on the sidewalk, a few tour companies, the Chinese theater, Ripleys, Madame Tussaud’s, and lots of street vendors- I felt safe walking there in the day time! Breakfast was ok, but everything else was phenomenal!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Magic Castle Hotel! The hotel itself is an older building. It shows. Old doesn't have to be bad though. If you are expecting everything to look immaculate and perfect, this may not be the place for you but if you want a fabulous experience and to feel like you are special, this is the PERFECT hotel for you. We loved every minute of it. They welcomed us with cider and champagne. We don't drink alcohol so they gave adults champagne like the kids. There was never an employee that treated us like a burden. They must hire the best, happiest people because that is all we encountered.
The room was an apartment room with a kitchen, couch bed, dining area, bedroom, and bathroom. They had added an extra rollaway bed without us even asking which was nice. Our room had a balcony where we spent a lot of time. It faced the courtyard and pool. The whole place felt like a cozy neighborhood.
The kids spent a lot of time in the heated pool in February. They loved it and there were even toys to use. They had towels out at the pool and music playing after 10. The pool is open 24 hours, you just have to be quiet after 9. They have unlimited free soft drinks all day(Freestyle machine), and soft serve ice cream after 10. There are even cones at the machine.
There is a list of snacks they will provide at no cost if you go ask for them at the front desk. There are games to borrow as well which we did a couple times.
The Popsicle hotline was a favorite with the kids. While they were out swimming they could pick up the red phone by the pool and request a Popsicle. The super employees(they must have been superheroes in disguise) would bring a platter with different flavors for them to choose from.
This hotel was a magical experience in itself and my family is ready to go back. We dedicated most of one day to just hanging out there. It is walkable distance to the Grauman theater and walk of stars. We walked it. They gave us a map at the front.
Breakfast is a basic continental breakfast with cereals, milk, fruit, yogurt, some delicious pastries, toast, and maybe a few other things. The espresso machine has hot chocolate! Perfect for cold mornings or nights.
The biggest negative about the hotel is that the parking lot under the building is small. The spaces are tight so it is difficult to pull in and out. It was nice having a gated lot though. I felt like my car was a little safer than out in the open.
We definitely recommend the Magic Castle Hotel! The employees and perks created a magical stay for our family. We hope to come back again some day.

I only visited for an evening event and was blown away by the charm, the culture and the historic relevance of this truly stunning location. I only hope I get another opportunity to visit.
