I used to have a residency here all because I stayed here as a guest and fell in love with everything about the W. Trust me hunny, you’ll want to make memories here. I even still have some photos all those decades ago when I stayed there as a guest for that very first time. ????????????????????????
The reason for this 5-star review is Lorena (housekeeper). I was on a business trip and brought my family along to the W. As luck would have it, my toddler threw up in the hall and in our room. Housekeeping was not only quick to respond, but Lorena went above and beyond. She brought us extra waters, apple juice, berries, and a bunny doll, which my child carries everywhere now. I did not expect this, but thank you Lorena for making a yucky situation much better! :-)
The customer service here is top notch. There is so much staff and they are so attentive! I was floored with the willingness of staff to make my stay exceptional. The lobby and common grounds are beautiful. The rooms are very clean and the gym is great. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
What up Mr. Rucker you have one of the best if not the most efficient system to play basketball in u make the sport Funn again I gonna request hang time essentially I need a net & a Basketball I think the executive order on Monarchy would agree and thanks for my free Jar of pickles I shared them with some kind of cuff Link idk Gas idle never idolize other Gods Love u and I thank god for our infrastructure. P.S.
The hotel itself is lovely and has a beautiful, newly renovated lobby and very clean rooms. The location is perfect, right off of Hollywood Blvd and next to the Metro for easy access to the city. The best part of the W Hollywood though is the concierge, Micaela! From the moment we stepped foot in the lobby she greeted us warmly and made us feel right at home. She has such a beautiful energy about her and went above and beyond for my dad and I. It made me so happy to scroll through other reviews who also noticed how great of a person Micaela is. I was already planning my next trip back to visit her (from Philly) before we were even checked out. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks!
Very disappointed with my stay. The pool wasn't open and there was very loud drilling throughout the day (from 8am) and even at night (8.30pm) - it felt like it was the room next to me. This wasn't mentioned at all on check-in or before arrival. When I mentioned to the manager he apologised for the noise and credited me with additional points but it's so loud I just didn't want to be in my room during the day and there was no chance in me being able to conduct work meetings with the noise. The aircon is also very noisy in the bedroom.
I also had to contact reception when I checked in as the light bulb in the bathroom wasn't working.
Also i was told to phone to collect the room service tray but the phone lines aren't working.
Such a shame as the location is great and the bar and reception area are lovely.
Have stayed in W branded hotels all over the world and it is generally a great experience. W Hollywood is an underwhelming experience, if it didn’t have a W sign out the front you would think it is a motel 6. Rooms are worn, dated and poorly decorated, with a great view of a concrete wall. Loud air conditioners that will keep you awake at night, and construction noise in the morning. Water does not drain from the shower, and no consistent hot water. Nearly $80 per day for compulsory valet parking, and a destination fee on top of that? What is that. This is hardly a destination, more like an overpriced hostel.
We had the best time at this hotel. Everyone was very helpful and sweet. We had an amazing front desk staff member by the name of Michaela. Bar service and tender were great as well! A great rainy baby moon in Hollywood! Thanks Preston and Lara Freeman
Hotel is under Construction, Did they tell anyone when I booked this hotel....NO! There is Loud construction noises going on all day. I was not able to take a nap after my travel and they said this is going to be on going for a full year. They said they would put me on the 7th floor to avoid noise and no I am listening to a jackhammer right now. I spoke with the hotel twice last week before arriving and they made NO mention of any of this. Parking is up to 49.50 a night and WIFI was 50.00 plus for the weekend. They are making no accommodation for the disturbances to the guests. Over the years I have stayed here several times, it's convenient for an awards show I attend, this time it's ruined....again this will be ongoing for a YEAR.
In Addition I called my travel service and they were very helpful and tried to speak with the hotel but said they hit a brick wall, I looked into checking out but the other comparable hotels close were fully booked. So in the next few days I stayed Room service I ordered twice , once took 1 1/2 hours , the second time took 2 hours. The phone system went down so I had to go to the temporary front desk on the 12th floor to place my order which they then screwed up hence my waiting 2 hours and the food was cold of course. After a late night awards show Sunday night till 3 AM I was promptly awakened with construction noises again at about 730 AM. My room was cleaned once in 3 days even though I requested it on others as well. The Hotel fairly expensive hotel should be closed during such a major overhaul that impacts guest services and comfort on this level.
Just an update this Hotel is still under construction and they do not tell you
Had dinner before going to the Pantages. Ordered a Cobb salad for two.We asked if our salad could be tossed to share. The waitress said no.We asked for salad or dinner plates, was told all they have are bread plates.Seriously?? Ridiculous! Have someone wash some plates if you don't have enough. Horrible organization/preparation for a restaurant in a supposed established Hotel. Won't be going back anytime soon !!
The hotel is currently under construction! It’s very loud in the rooms…active construction site on most floors. Unable to relax and several amenities are unavailable. Wait and book here after construction is finished. Perfect location with 12th floor views of the city!
Even the normal rooms are called suite.
Dangerous neighborhood.
This hotel charged me twice for the room. First time was charged on the day of check out which is totally fine but they charged me for the second time six months later. I contacted credit company and they withdrew the bill.
There has been no apology yet.
Terrible service from what is supposed to be a higher brand of Marriott hotel group
I had a bad parking experience. After years of going to the restaurant before shows at the Pantages, with validated parking the charge was $15. Indeed the sign at the parking booth, says the charge for day parking is $15. Today, Sunday, January 7, 2024, I was charge $30 and told by the attendant that the $15 charge only applies on certain days. I called the manager and he confirmed that the policy had changed. Our lunch today, for two people, was about $100 with tip. A 30% parking charge on top of that seems excessive for a 1 1/2 how stay. At any rate, I feel ripped off and wanted to let the world know.
The lunch was tasty, I must say. Cheers..............
One of the reasons I stay this hotel is its location in the center of Hollywood. The W is across the street from the Pantages Theater, next to a Metro station, with a Trader Joe's and a wide array of restaurants in walking distance. On a clear day and you can see all the way to downtown.
The hotel lobby has been undergoing renovations for nearly a year now and they have temporarily located the front desk on the 12th floor where the swimming pool is also located.
Along with a well equipped gym, in-room dining, and a friendly staff, the W has everything a traveler needs.
The problem is, this hotel is very noisy.
The double-pane windows are woefully inadequate for keeping out the noise of Hollywood boulevard traffic, so all day and night you can hear the pedestrians, street sweepers, and hot rods driving up and down Hollywood Blvd.
The other noise comes from *inside* the hotel. Depending on what floor your room is on, you can hear the water pipes clang and bang all day and night. If you're on the 2nd floor, forget about having a quiet morning or peaceful night of sleep. Evidently the hotel management doesn't think it's important enough to insulate the pipes, so bring ear plugs.
I am a happy Bonvoy Platinum member and have spent $10,000+ at the W Hollywood over that past 3 years, but next time, I think I'll try another property.
Je n'y ai jamais séjourné mais j'y allais régulièrement pour bronzer au bord de la piscine du rooftop ! Vu imprenable sur les collines d'Hollywood et Downtown. En plus de ça, c'est gratuit

The beds are low, but at least you won't get hurt rolling off the bed...
Great views from the outdoor part of the temporary rooftop restaurant. The rooftop pool is also heated and has good views.
