Hello I had the unfortunate luck of staying at this property and let me tell you now they are very rude!, very expensive!, and downright liars! I never once stole anything from their property. They are over 200$ a night and 30 a night for parking in a tiny parking lot with no parking checkout is at 11 and late checkout for a measly 30 mins is an extra 50$! Just trying to save some people from the terrible experience if I can! Look out !!!

Terrible service. Lady told me my room wasn’t booked when I booked through Expedia, which is probably Expedia’s fault, but even after showing her proof I had booked a room, she still denied and made me pay for a room all over again. Next, she informed me she didn’t have a parking space for me in the front (there was at least 6 open spaces) and I would need to reserve one ahead of time. I didn’t really mind except for the fact that when I woke up the next morning the spaces were still empty. The room was fine, 2 beds, sort of run down interior though. But great location.

Beautiful retro hotel in a great location. But be careful: nothing for the winter. They only had a small fan heater for two rooms. And the windows fall out of the frame. Very in need of repair.

I was worried with the bad reviews about bugs in the rooms and it’s being sketchy(considering it’s California) but we had an absolutely amazing time I felt safe walking to the bars and home at 2 am the rooms were clean and maintained it’s so close to the pier and shops and the beach is right there I 100% would stay in this room again and also not too far from LAX phenomenal stay!!!! Staff was also very helpful and handled any issue definitely best hotel for the price in that location

I previously posted a bad review based on the original room and service — however, James at the Sea Blue Hotel really came through! He addressed my concerns with the original room, and helped us find a new room for the remainder of our stay.

This hotel is very centrally located, near tons of great restaurants and the pier, and has been overall a good place to stay in. The room we were moved to was clean, spacious, and quiet. I appreciate the help from management and recommend staying here for a chill SM vacation.

Amazing location just steps from the beach and a few minutes' walk to the pier, restaurants. Friendly, helpful staff. Room is definitely dated (personally, we enjoyed the vintage character), but very clean, not too cramped, and everything worked. Appreciated bat fridge and space heater for cool January mornings. Not having coffee in-room was slightly inconvenient, but having reading the mentioning this, we expected to have to go further than the lobby for coffee, so lobby coffee was actually a nice surprise. We chose this hotel b/c is was a little less $$ (and thus less fancy) than the fancier places in the same area. We had a great stay and would stay again.

Eddie, James and the desk clerk on duty went above and beyond for my brother who is hearing impaired and has medical issues. Gave him information about getting to the medical center, cabs etc. Amazing staff!

The location can't be beat! We got a $30 uber from LAX and walked everywhere while we were there. I took off a star because the bathrooms are run down with paint peeling and such. I felt they were clean, but a little effort would improve the bathrooms. I would stay again, but my teen was freaked out by the peeling paint. Free coffee in the lobby and friendly staff. Free luggage storage was VERY helpful. Be aware they close for lunch, so you can't access your luggage during certain times. The walkway for beach access is shared with residences, but was a nice area to chill with my coffee before my teen woke up. It was like a shared balcony with an ocean view. Beautiful flora in the walkway, some belonging to the residences. (See photos)

My only complaint is wishing the outlets were closer to the bed bc I couldn’t play on my phone while it was charging bc of how far the outlet was and paying 29$ to park in their small parking lot. Besides that I loved the distance to the beach and the professionalism of the night shift guy that checked us in. I want to plan another trip to the area and would love to stay here again.

Rooms need some work. Lots of cracks. Just an old place. Pictures do look nice. In reality it's not great. Staff was too busy to chat and no coffee in the room. Beds were comfy.
People were smoking pot in the shared backyard. Not my ideal.
Location is great. Paying for parking is 29 usd

Was a great experience, clean, comfortable, surfboard theme, nostalgic room with easy access to the pier Pacific Park and beach was a great experience. Will come back again. Parking is a little tight small vehicles are recommended. (The bed was not made because this was day after.)

Very old rooms. The windows where very thin, so that it was a bit cold in the nights. Shades where basically transparent and WiFi only worked if you actually left the rooms. The staff was also not bothered about it and kept saying we don’t know how to connect to WiFi. Although the description said the rooms had coffee you actually had to get it in the lobby and hope you got a normal coffee. Parking reservation was only possible on the day of arrival which is very bad for planning obviously. We saw several new buildings around this hotel where rooms can be booked, so that next time we would book one of those. We had booked this room based on the location, the description and the pictures, but considering the hefty price versus what we got I would not recommend it.

The rooms were clean, comfy beds and pillows and the view of the beach was beautiful. The front staff were very kind.
