Hotel built in 1924 that offers a true journey through time and stands alone in downtown Culver City
Built in 1924, the Culver Hotel offers a true journey back in time. This dreamy building stands alone in downtown Culver City; no wonder it's on the National Heritage List. This is where 124 of the people who played the Munchkins in The Wizard of Oz (1939) made their home during the filming of the famous musical, sometimes sleeping three to a bed. If you stay here, opt for one of the rooms above the third floor, which has a great view.

My husband and I stayed here for our 8 year anniversary and for our first overnight stay away from our baby. The hotel staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a super quiet room for a good nights rest (on the top floor, facing the plaza) and even surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco. They even informed the downstairs restaurant, Lillie’s, that it was our anniversary and they reserved a gorgeous window-front table for us. You can’t beat the location, whether it’s for a staycation (like ours) or an out of town visit. It was so nice to walk around and explore. Culver has really come to life over the last five years. Would highly recommend a stay here. You won’t be disappointed.
