EL REY THEATRE
Built in 1936 from the plans of architect Clifford Balch, this former Art Deco landmark movie theater is located in the heart of Miracle Mile, less than a fifteen minute walk from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. After fifty years of showing movies, El Rey was finally converted into a concert hall in 1994. Its grand staircase, its Art Deco hall, its VIP balcony lounge and its large ballroom equipped with an imposing stage make it a particularly enjoyable place. One listens to an eclectic selection, from jazz to pop.
