At the foot of Griffith Park, near Griffith Observatory, lies this beautiful amphitheatre built in the Greek style, as its name suggests. Imagine: when the first show took place here in 1931, seats in the first two rows cost a dollar, while the rest were free. From jazz to alternative rock, the stage now plays host to some of today's greatest artists. Avoid paid parking: you can find a free space on Vista del Valle Drive, a small street perpendicular to North Vermont Canyon Road.
