GARDE-CÔTES
Los Angeles is home to the United States Coast Guard Air Station. This base provides air support to the U.S. Coast Guard, and operates around 210 aircraft from 24 air bases across the country. Fixed-wing aircraft, such as the HC 130 Hercules, are used for long-range missions and operate from these air bases. HH-65 Dolphin and Sikorsky HH-60 Jayhawk helicopters are also used and operate from airports, air facilities and ships equipped with a helicopter pad. Los Angeles Air Force Base was established in 1962 and is located near Los Angeles International Airport. It currently houses three HH-65 Dolphin helicopters. Ocean rescuers from the USCG and Los Angeles County Fire Department take part in Helo Operations training on the coast of Los Angeles County, California.
