MAK CENTER AT THE SCHINDLER HOUSE
A remarkable home owned by MAK, one of the first modern homes to respond to the specifics of California's climate.
Viennese architect Rudolf Schindler, who moved to Los Angeles in the 1920s, was responsible for the construction of this house, also known as the Schindler House. With its clean lines and minimalist style, it is considered to be one of the first modern houses to meet the specific needs of California's climate. Since 1994, it has belonged to the MAK, which organizes numerous events here, including recitals, conferences and concerts.
