EL PUEBLO DE LOS ANGELES
Historic, colorful and warm neighborhood of a Mexican community, with a pleasant walk to Los Angeles.
This colorful neighborhood is the historic heart of Los Angeles. The original village, founded in 1781 by eleven Spanish settler families, was named El Pueblo de Nuestra Señora la Reina de Los Ángeles del Río de Porciúncula. Little by little, the small pueblo grew in importance and became the main urban center of southern Alta California. Today, the district is home to a large Mexican community. Take a few minutes to enjoy the lively local scene, often punctuated by locals dancing to salsa or cumbia.
