Enjoyed an amazing meal!

I’ve been here 4 times, and each was a great experience. Reservations were made, and I’ve always been seated promptly at the table indoor or outdoor of my preference. All of the dishes are great, you can’t go wrong with any of them. Service is always outstanding.

Amore! The food and atmosphere of Cafe Santorini – perched on a charming rooftop in Old Town Pasadena – will whisk you away to the vibrant coastline of the Mediterranean.

We started off the night with the Mezze Vegetarian Appetizer. Not only is this dish beautiful to look at with all its vibrant colors, but it’s also bursting with flavor – tangy hummus, zesty tabbouleh, marinated grape leaves, and crispy Borak (to name a few) will excite you with different tastes.

For the main course, we each got the Chicken Kebab. What an indulgent dish! The chicken was succulent and perfectly seasoned. It came with rice pilaf, tzatziki, hummus, and a colorful assortment of roasted vegetables.

Unlike other restaurants that give you insanely small portion sizes for a ridiculous price, Cafe Santorini serves up very filling meals that leave you feeling perfectly satisfied. We were delighted by our dinner and thrilled that we got to sample different exotic dishes from the Mediterranean. Thankfully, this restaurant does NOT limit itself to just pasta and pizza.

The only downsides were that it took a long time for our food to arrive (around 30 minutes) and that our waiter was not very communicative. For example, our appetizer came with pita bread but we had no idea because it was tucked away under several layers of napkins! Wish our waiter told us, since we unknowingly ordered extra pita bread. Moreover, the tables on the balcony are arranged very close together, which did not provide us with much room for intimate conversation, but I guess that’s ok …we were focused on savoring our delicious food anyways!

Went here to celebrate my parent's 50th anniversary and what a beautiful place. It was a little weird getting to the actual restaurant because it was a small door which lead to going upstairs. They do have an elevator but I think it was on the other side where the alley was. We were unfamiliar so just chose the stairs. Also parking is across the street and you have to pay for parking. There's a nice size patio or you can eat inside. I think it was definitely nice to eat outside and since it was on the chilly side, they have heat lamps which kept us warm. The calamari salad and the Branzino were standouts for sure. And their martinis were delicious. I loved all 3 flavor choices so I decided to get all 3 but the best was the Santorini one, not too strong and the flavor was perfection. I would definitely recommend this place and to make reservations. This place was fully packed when we were there.

Sadly Cafe Santorini has always been an average overall experience. The service has improved but the food has not.

I have been here over 30 times since my daughter was born until she went to college. This review is for overall experiences. When I first went there, the food was good. They gave free bread, it was a stable to this restaurant. They no longer give the bread. They also add a 3% fee on top of the tax. It's hidden at the very bottom of the menu. Why are customers paying for your staff health care, if your staff are that important to your restaurant, provide them with health insurance. The food is not as good.
The removed a lot of vegetarian options (no more pasta, no more pizzas). They have salads, and a vegetarian mezza tasting menu. On my last visit, I order of a vegetarian platter, they put meat on there, ruin my lunch. This place is not really greek food, it's more middle Eastern food. The location is great, indoor and balcony sitting. They do take a while to sit even if the restaurant is not busy.

Note pictures are taken over the years, they no longer have pizza, and the sandwich.

Came here for Valentine's Day and the experience was phenomenal, not to mention the food. We got the Santorini Mezze Tasting to start and everything was delicious. The atmosphere and location is also very intimate and romantic. We'll be back 100%!

My husband and I stumbled on this place and it was all right. Food was served cold, the octopus was chewy

Fantastic restaurant. Have been here many times and will continue to come. The food is great and the atmosphere is lovely. A few of the menu stands outs are the Vegetarian Mezze Tasting, the Cioppino, and the Beef Briochette (although there was nothing here I didn’t enjoy)

The absolute worse. I ordered my food on this restaurant's website. The website went to ToastTab. I spent $60 on their site and they contracted my food to be delivered by Door Dash. I found this out by the email I received shortly afterwards. My food was NEVER delivered. I received a text message from Door Dash that the order was cancelled. I called the restaurant and they would not help me and insisted that I now have to go through Door Dash to retrieve my refund. I NEVER worked with Door Dash to place the order. I called DoorDash and they are now telling me that Cafe Santorini has to process the refund. And it takes 48 hours. This is insane!

Just off of this, I don't care if the food is good, customer service goes a long way. I will NEVER come back to this restaurant.

My chicken kabab was ok. The chicken was dry. I guess I should applaud them for hiring the elderly as bus boys, but they should provide them with more training. The elderly man was trying to do a good job probably, by constantly removing plates from our table, but it was so often his action kept interrupting our conversations, because he would ask you to hand him a plate while you're talking. He also got my jacket dirty twice, because he was not careful. I didn't say anything to the manager because I didn't want to get him in trouble. Also, the restaurant closed at 10pm. Yes, we lost track of time, and we were the second to the last table to leave, but we still didn't deserve for them to turn off the light for the stairway as we were going down it. We have one person with bad vision, and if she had been in front instead of me, she could have had a misstep and fallen. They should have waited for us to be out of the stairway before turning off the light to it.

Our server was nice and friendly though. The atmosphere was quite good.

No, not wheelchair accessible.

Cafe Santorini has been a Pasadena highlight for many years. The success of this restaurant may be attributed to the superbly prepared food and excellent service.
This restaurant is located in Old Town Pasadena and is a walk-up stairs with two dining areas. An inside section with a large bar and an outdoor section with heaters when needed and shaded windows.
The menu is compact but versatile - with many options. The food is Mediterranean, with Greek and Middle Eastern influences.
Someone at our table had specific dietary needs and preferences. The server suggested substitutions and adjusted a dish to suit them with no trouble.
All of our dishes were well prepared and exceptional. The service is very professional- knowing when to ask if we need anything and when to give us space.
I would highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
