Great value on the island. Friendly staff, quiet property, and clean rooms.

We were fortunate enough to be chosen as Guest of the Day! We were upgraded to a very nice suite with a large balcony! We also were given early check in. The staff was very kind and helpful in every way!
This is an older property and could use a little love and care, but it definitely did not interrupt our stay. It is on a hill so we had a lovely view! I definitely recommend this property.

The staff is super helpful and nice. It is an older property with wear and tears but that is not the workers fault.

They did their best to help me with everything I needed, very accommodating. Love the island will be coming back.

Ug where to start? My friend accidentally booked a room at this hotel. She loves going to Catalina and hasn't been in a while. I too have come to Catalina just under a dozen times. Still it was a while since my last visit.

Anyway, I contacted the hotel to cancel the reservation 1-2days prior. They said it can only be done through the booking company. Went through my friend's email and found what came up as the booking company. Contacted them to cancel and they said only the hotel admin can do that. So a back and forth game. Great... We actually wanted to go but that weekend just wasn't the right time. Since neither side was really helping... The hotel said they will have to charge the full amount because I guess we didn't notify them in time. We did our best to make it. Managed to get the last ferry to Catalina.

On our way there an email came in from the hotel said best they can do is only charge us for the 1 night and cancel the 2nd night. We got to the hotel late at night, checked into the room. Oddly for 2 adults and 1 child they gave us a room with 1 bed and a tiny couch. It was too late to complain, no one in the office at this time.

We were hungry. Found a place only a few minutes away that was actually open. We ordered some burgers and stuff as takeout. Just a few hours after eating we all got seriously sick. I was on the toilet feeling like Niagara falls coming out of me. My bestie was sick. The worst was my 8yr old god daughter was projectile vomiting for freaking HOURS.

None of us had any sleep. We had to pay for a late check out of the hotel. I had to find the pharmacy and get stuff to help her make the trip back home. The room just smelled of sickness and vomit. The windows wouldn't really open. A window by the door could open but then anyone walking by could hear us and we would hear them. There was another window but it was pretty heavy and I just didn't have anything to keep it open. So the room just smelled bad.

Anyway, I managed to book a ferry back to Long Beach. We checked out the room. My little god daughter threw up all along the way to the ferry. Luckily, she finally stabilized before we had to take the ferry. She was so broken she said she never wanted to come back to Catalina.

We didn't even get to see or do anything this trip. We just burned a ton of money. Round trip on the ferry alone for the 3 of us cost about $250. Then the hotel, medicine, parking, gas, time....

All could of been avoided if we were able to just cancel the trip. Maybe even allowed to reschedule would have been great. Hands down the worst experience I've had in a long time.

This was the perfect getaway for our engagement trip! The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a beautiful view and some fun downtown. Cool hot tub, great seated balconies, comfortable furniture, clean bathrooms. The walk to and from town was easy, yet it feels like you are staying up and away from the crowds.

I wanted to make a reservation for a certain day but made a mistake when choosing the date. I tried contacting them after less than 10 mins I booked it but they said they couldn't help me because the manager is not available. Long story short they took my $287. They said it was non-refundable. They took my money and ignore my request for refund or change the date. How desperate can you be?

Where to begin... great location but the facility itself is severely outdated.

1. Cable didn't work on either of the 2 days we were there.
2. Heating system didn't work. Went to front desk and was given a space heater (that didn't work either).
3. Floors weren't clean.

Just overall creepy.

Very cozy, fabulous view, spacious room. Very dated but everything was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was awesome after diving and service was super friendly.

Yes, the Inn is older and a bit dated, but overall a wonderful experience. Great views from our room and easy walking distance into town. Heads-up. There are some substantial hills going up if you have mobility issues. But quiet and peaceful and very reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and responsive. Hope to return soon.

We were very pleased with all aspects of our stay. Definitely will return.

The location is great, staff are helpful, but they really do need NEW mattresses- our friends in the other rooms complained too about the old, lumpy mattresses. And, please clean along the baseboards and behind furniture, not just traffic areas!

Worst experience of my life. Horrible service. No notes were taken that is put anniversary. We ordered a deluxe room with a ocean view and we didn't get either. Both rooms we were offered smell so bad I can barely be in the room. After asking the front desk for help we got moved to a different room with still no view and no other option to accommodate us. Worse experience and now I'm stuck. The rooms have 1 ply toilet paper, shower drips, and the bed is awful. Do not stay here.

We were very disappointed with our stay here. Our room was very run down. Our main door was a slider which would have been ok had there been a sturdier lock. There was also an interior door adjoining the room next door which we couldn’t even lock. Fortunately, we feel safe in Avalon and the area around the hotel is good so we didn’t necessarily feel unsafe, but strong working locks would be nice. The place hasn’t been updated since provably the 80’s. While we can live with old decor, but basic repairs have been ignored. Several walls had water damage which haven’t been dealt with. There were rusty fixtures in the bathroom and an overall odor of mildew. Many of the electrical outlets were loose and one was just hanging from the wall. The furniture and cabinets are beat up. The carpet was just gross. I’ll stop there. This place could be really nice with some effort and investment in repairing and updating. The location and views are great but we won’t be back.

This placed scammed us. Made a reservation during the Hurricane Hillary fiasco. LA COUNTY SD subsequently evacuated the island, so we couldn't stay. This place refuses to refund or reschedule our reservation.

The rooms are in desperate need of an upgrade. I stayed here for my anniversary and It felt like living in the 80s. The shower was clogged. The TV had limited channels and the cable box was hanging from its coaxial cable (wish I took a picture). We only stayed one night but we will definitely won't go back. I'll pay extra just to go somewhere else.

The view was spectacular. If they upgrade the rooms, this will be a good stop.
