PAPPY & HARRIET'S
Not only are the grills cooked outside, over a wood fire, but they are also to be enjoyed inside, in this exquisite log house in the middle of the desert, in front of folk and rock groups who come to perform in santiags and mini-shorts, with a traditional beer. It was here in Pioneertown that many Westerners turned in the 1950s; this restaurant was then just a movie set. Today, Pappy & Harriet's has a really amazing charm straight out of an American road-trip movie. Book if you don't want to find yourself with your beak in the water: many hipsters in L.A. and the area have understood that something unique and magical is happening here. Even Paul McCartney was not mistaken: he came to honour the tiny scene of Pappy & Harriet's during a surprise concert in 2016.
