Just a ten-minute walk from Old Town, Takeaki Tadokoro offers a fantastic dining experience that will take you on a journey to Japan - the real thing. To get a taste of the different specialties on the menu, sit at the counter and take the omakase. The chef will ask you what you don't want to eat, then serve you a succession of plates to enjoy at your own pace. From oysters to scallops, sea urchin, eel and the gourmet fatty tuna - toro - everything is a treat. Reservations are highly recommended.

Everything is very fresh and authentic. I did the omakase course and wasn’t disappointed. The place leans more toward the traditional Japanese scale

Food was good , but the value isn’t close. There are other comparable sushi restaurants at half the price.

It’s a hobby of mine to try different Michelin restaurants and this was definitely not comparable to the other one star establishments I’ve enjoyed. There was actually a piece of bone in one of my sushi bites and I have never experienced that before. I did think the Chilean Seabass was outstanding.
The parking lot has minimal spots available for this restaurant so leave a little time to find street parking. Also if you go on a weekend or after 5pm, you can charge your EV in the nearby caltrans parking lot and walk over (10 minute walk through beautiful old town).
