If Little Italy is full of good restaurants, this Calabrian-born establishment opened in 2015 stands out in particular for the quality of its homemade pasta. Another special feature is the second menu, specially designed for vegans. Choose from lasagne, fettuccine with mushroom ragout, or eggplant fusilli. In the "mainstream" menu, special mention goes to the delicious pappardelle brasato, cooked with rib stew, Cabernet and Parmesan. Another highlight is the excellent selection of wines.

Italian fine dining the way it should be. We dined alfresco with the sunset warming us and an occasional soft cool breeze passing through from the Pacific Ocean. Some delectable items were the complimentary Focaccia bread (crusty on the outside, soft on the inside) with pesto dipping sauce, the Fritto di Mare, lasagna, cacio e pepe, ravioli with a savory sauce, bruschetta with prosciutto, and tiramisu. Civico 1845 has been part of the San Diego fine dining scene for a very long time and it's a must for any tourist looking for an unforgettable dining experience in San Diego!

Keren was a great server and was perfectly attentive even with a busy night at restaurant was going on, the food was amazing and the atmosphere perfect for a comfy date.

Great experience from the start got seated right away, and our bartender Karram was really professional. The food & service was outstanding. I can’t imagine what else they have that taste as good!

My daughter chose this place because she’s a vegan and, allegedly, they have good vegan options.
I wasn’t impressed with the atmosphere, the wait staff, the food… nothing.
The server kept rushing us from the moment we were sat. When the food came, another disappointment… to top the whole evening off, just after I paid the bill, a cockroach fell from above on the the table.
I asked to speak with the manager, he came over and started chasing the roach across the floor. When I finally got a moment to speak with him, his answer was “they come from the street and I can’t do anything about it “ . AYFKM!!!!
Not worth the time or $$$ unless you are truly seeking a roach coach !

The fresh bread with the pesto to start was amazing, the stuffed chicken wrapped in prosciutto was some of the best we've both said we've ever had (the chicken perfectly juicy and the prosciutto cooked just right), the burrata was creamy and delicious and the pasta we had was also incredible. The bartender was wonderful in giving us food and drink recommendations. I would definitely recommend this spot and cannot wait to go back. My 1 recommendation would be to try to have a reservation because it seemed like you were sat much quicker and easier this way, even on a Thursday night. Highly recommend this spot!
