If you're having a wedding at Curvier Park, this is literally just across the street. From our room, we were able to see a ceremony take place the day before ours.
I have never gave a hotel 10 before and this wee place deserves more, it is honestly outstanding, picturesque is the word, room was huge, corner king room the view were outstanding, you could watch the sunset from your window.Tony the manager couldn't have been nicer.
There were robes, a lovely coffee machine, a full-size fridge freezer and a very comfy bed, and a real gas fireplace. Plenty of parking and location is lovely, very quiet but walking distance to some lovely shops and restaurants, wish we had longer than 2 night here ????.
The room was well aquainted and attractive. They had a Kerig machine...great coffee daily. ( bring your favorite flavors only plain roast) The personnel were friendly, helpful, and kind. What can I say, but...Location, Location, Location!! Perfect!!! We saw a bride a day being married next to the ocean, and the high school prom next door. It was fun seeing the fashion and gowns, wedding dresses, tuxedos, and can't forget the ice-cream truck outside across the street daily for a quick treat after walking miles of LaJolla shopping for a much earned treat! We'd love to come back some day, hopefully soon!
This inn is a jewel! We enjoyed our stay here from the moment we arrived and were warmly greeted, to the moment we left and were bid a fond farewell. The room was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated in a beach theme, and very comfortable. The location was also perfect. If you come to La Jolla for vacation, don’t overlook Scripps Inn!
Minor things cannot get this little boutique hotel down in score for me. The location is outstanding in terms of closeness to the coves, Prospect, and many eateries, coffee shops, bars, etc. We stayed for two nights and I only wish we could've had a longer trip. La Jolla is magical in itself, but Scripps feels special. From the homey décor with the beachside theme, to the quaint terrace where you can read and sip a beverage with the ocean in your sightline.
The small stuff that wasn't worth sweating: outlets are rather oddly placed in the room (most often hidden behind furniture in such a way that it was hard or impossible to plug anything in; we used the washroom outlet most) and if you're in a first floor unit (we were in 5), you can definitely hear your upstairs neighbours walking about. All this doesn't negate the positives for me.
Brooke is the most wonderful concierge and goes out of her way to accommodate for her guests (personal text to notify that the room was ready early, luggage storage solution since our flight wasn't until the evening). The sweet ladies on the hotel staff were also incredibly kind and friendly. It's always so nice to get a smile back.
I hope I get to stay here again, especially for summer! Thanks so much, Scripps!
My husband and I had a staycation at the Scripps Inn overlooking the beautiful ocean!!! Our room was set up very nice and the sound of the ocean was dreamy..... and by the way the mattress was very good .... We took a lovely walk to the La Jolla Cove, all restaurants and shopping within walking distance...:) Brooke at the front desk is very friendly and helpful!!! Thank you for everything!
