A lovely historic site on lovely Coronado Island. The lodge is exquisitely furnished, beautifully maintained, and the staff is so very welcoming. I especially like the Art Deco touches in the Iighting ... beautiful! The rooms are clean, beds very comfortable, and the bathroom leaves nothing to be desired. A very nice touch is the in-room coffeemaker with all the "fixings" for a delicious way to greet or end the day. I cannot praise 1906 Lodge highly enough. I hope we will have the pleasure of returning to that jewel of a B&B in the future.
Very cozy, historic bed & breakfast just a short walk away from downtown Coronado and the Hotel Del Coronado. My room had a beautiful window seat and I love that the owners restored every historic window. It’s charming details like that that make this place special. I also took advantage of the free bicycles (with helmets!) that you could ride around town and along the beach. The breakfast was lovely (they were able to accommodate my allergies) and had outdoor seating the courtyard as well. Would love to stay here again!
WOW!! Wish I could give it 6 stars! This place is a gem! I will definitely be back soon! We are locals (live in north country SD), but needed a night away. It was truly an amazing experience. Very quiet, clean, and the staff on hand (Natalia, Sebastián) were so helpful and accommodating. We were served delicious happy hour drinks and apps (deviled eggs, nuts, fruit) and wine (beer, sangria, sodas, lemonade were other choices) and then when we decided to turn in, the bed and pillows were like heaven. Very comfortable and enviting. The room furniture was outdated, but the bath spa, shower, balcony, coffee alcove was everything you needed. Waking up, breakfast was devine (fruit, sliced ham, quiche, muffin, and small salad) and it changes daily. Pia our chef for the day was amazing ????. We will be back soon. They have underground parking, but for small cars. If you have a huge SUV or truck, park on the street.
Loved it here. Not far from the beach, walking distance. Pia, the server in the mornings, was such a pleasure. She was so warm and welcoming. The food for breakfast did not disappoint even with different dishes every morning, all were delicious! Nice, quiet and beautiful place, would recommend for sure!
The perfect little bnb! Booked last minute and fortunately got the last room in the place. However, it felt very private and individualized; this is all to say, service and experience are of the upmost importance of 1906!
We stayed in Kate’s Garden and had ample room. The rooms were neat and had delightful charm. Every morning, breakfast downstairs was a delicious, well portioned meal (ham and cheese quiche with fruit and a salad one day; spinach omelet with lox, bagel, and fruit the next). Happy hour from 4-5 was also a great addition and featured heavy appetizers (penne pasta, pretzels, and nuts).
The location is perfect. A short drive to San Diego proper and a very short walk to downtown Coronado. We used the spa, restaurants, and beach access of the Del with no problems and would not have preferred staying there—in fact, the walk to dinner each night was no further than if we were on the hotel property.
Will absolutely stay again on the next trip to San Diego and tell everyone about it!
We felt like we were in a fairytale. What a wonderful place with a Chef that makes breakfast every day and the innkeeper hosts a happy hour in the afternoons. Very memorable.
We had a long weekend girls trip, and this was the most relaxing hotel! 5 of us in one room, and it never felt too crowded. Having a patio to sit on was so perfect to relax and catch up.
The manager was so great, and everyone else we interacted with there was so nice and helpful. The cocktail hour had great wine, and the hor d'oeuvres were very good every night. Breakfast was so good every morning. Tons of stuff to do close by, most things were very easily walkable. If I'm in Cornado again, I will definitely be staying here.
This place is perfect for your family get away. It feels very homey. All of the guests seem to be older which is good. Quiet hours start at 8pm. There are so many resturants in walking distance. The staff is very nice, they have a parking garage under the building $30 a day. If you don't feel like looking for street parking. The area feels extremely safe. I would stay here again.
My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the 1906 Lodge. We read the reviews and believe me they are accurate. Beautiful grounds, comfortable room and amazing breakfasts. All the staff were super friendly and went out of their way to say hi and make sure we had everything we needed. Walking distance to the beach and shopping areas. Highly recommended, stay here you wont be disappointed!

The facilities were well kept and clean. It is relatively quiet and a great location near the beach.
