The Junípero Serra Museum
This facility in Presidio Park preserves the memory of the missions' history, which is intertwined with California's.
Located in Presidio Park, this establishment preserves the memory of the history of the missions, which is intertwined with that of California. Named after Father Junipero Serra, it was built between 1928 and 1929 by architect William Templeton Johnson on the foundations of the San Diego de Alcalá mission, in a Spanish Revival style very similar to that of the first missions around. The museum hosts interesting temporary exhibits, mixing history and art.
