Binion's welcomes you with its limousine in the entrance: a customized white Cadillac, with two imposing buffalo horns as figureheads. The founder of the place, Benny Binion, was a sulphurous Texas criminal who was expelled from Dallas. In Las Vegas, he opened the Horseshoe (the casino's historic name) on Fremont Street in 1951, introducing several innovations. It was the first establishment to install carpeting throughout and to apply the comps formula (free drinks and nights) to encourage players to spend more.
