After its first existence in 1973 and then perishing by fire in one of the most tragic fires in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand has risen from its ashes twenty years later. Its massive towers are black by day and fluorescent by night. An imposing golden lion watches over the place. It is the emblem of the Metro Goldwyn Mayer, owner of the establishment and whose initials are inseparable from the name of the hotel.
The casino has chosen an elegant Art Deco environment for its players. The services offered by the hotel are as numerous as its rooms, more than 6,000! The dozens of restaurants at the MGM compete in design in spaces that would make any entrepreneur dream. The hotel also boasts entertainment venues of all sizes, including the famous Grand Garden Arena (17,000 seats), where high-stakes boxing matches are held and pop stars perform. The MGM is also home to Cirque du Soleil's Kà show and periodically hosts big name entertainers such as magician David Copperfield, Barbara Streisand and Lady Gaga. Among the improvements made to the hotel in recent years is the opening of a new nightclub: Hakkasan. Its Skyfall lounge offers one of the most beautiful views in Las Vegas. More recently, the MGM offers a virtual reality attraction, Zero Latency, where up to 8 players can have adventures fighting hordes of zombies or destructive robots.
