Museum north of Las Vegas, dedicated to the history of atomic testing at the Nevada Test Site, offering an interesting tour

Opened in 2005, this museum is dedicated to the history of atomic testing at the Nevada Test Site - NTS - located in the desert north of Las Vegas. It is a branch of the Smithsonian Institution, one of the most important scientific research organizations in the world. The tour is interesting and provides an insight into the period following the first U.S. nuclear tests in 1951. The "Ground Zero Theater" simulates the observation of the experiment.

Assez instructif. Original. Bien structuré. Si vous avez le temps, à faire
A museum in Las Vegas, changes casinos! It is easily accessible, in a street perpendicular to the Strip (even feasible on foot from the Grand Hotels if you are not too squeezed).

The museum is very well, you will learn a lot on the report from the USA to the atomic weapon (the bombings of Japan during the war, the arms race during the cold war, the awakening, consequences...)
There is everything: old photos of Las Vegas at the time when Nevada is chosen as site try rooms equipment, videos with testimonies of former employees of the site.

And the exit, a small shop, among others republications of brochures information spread during with the population to inform them on the nuclear power... and that is worth a look!
