" The Trib "is the daily newspaper in the city, but also in Utah. Its draw is the largest of the state in the week, but the weekend it is surpassed by that of Deseret News, the newspaper of the Mormon church. Originally founded by Acadian businessmen, in 1870, The Salt Lake Tribune was bought in 1873 by a businessman and transformed into an anti-Mormon daily newspaper, a regular supporter of the Liberal Party (dissolved in 1896). His anti-Jewish political opinions are still very vivid today, so that The Trib supports Barack Obama in 2012, against Mitt Romney - from a Mormon family.
