NAVAJO NATIONAL MONUMENT
Navajo National Monument, to be visited with the ruins of the village of Betakin nestled in an alcove and with sandstone rooms
Possibility of visiting the ruins of the village of Betakin, built by the ancestors of the Pueblo Indians in the 13th century. Extremely well camouflaged, Betakin (which means "house on the ledge") is nestled at the bottom of a gigantic alcove and consists of rooms built of sandstone. The site was not discovered until 1909, five months after the opening of Navajo National Monument. Two campgrounds (Sunset View and Canyon View campgrounds) are located near the visitor center. The Sandal Trail, Aspen Trail and Canyon View Trail are accessible year-round.

This site is of exceptional beauty.
Dream and leave themselves imagine scenes from westerns who were many taped many times in this magical place who was used as décor.
I strongly recommend take (as far as possible) the option " lunch at Navajos". They even prepare in monument valley, on a Barbecue, large cuts of beef delicious American sauces, while tell you their lives and their ancestors, their traditions etc.
That will be never has a unique in your memories and allows the Navajo people live since they live mainly tourism.
