OLD TUCSON STUDIOS
Small village of the traditional Far West reconstituted to shoot westerns, become a tourist site with attractions
Built in 1939, these studios have been used to shoot over 500 films and TV series, from Little House on the Prairie to Rio Bravo, starring John Wayne. Today, the sets have been converted into a theme park, where stands, shows and re-enactments take visitors on a journey of discovery of Calamity Jane and other legends of the Great West. While the park will appeal above all to children, Western enthusiasts won't want to miss the interesting 1-hour Historical Tour held when the site is closed to the public. So brush up on your classics before you come!
