The former courthouse was built in 1928 in a Spanish colonial revival style. It is a brick building covered with pink stucco and topped by a remarkable ceramic dome. In 2015, the Court of Justice is moved to a modern building. The former palace, currently under renovation, is expected to house a large regional visitor centre in southern Arizona, as well as the University of Arizona Mineral Museum.
