Just ten miles west of Tucson, Gate Pass is a scenic overlook that offers some of the most beautiful sunsets in the region. The saguaros - the region's signature giant cacti - silhouetted against the glowing sky are an integral part of the Southwest's charm. Plan to get there early, about an hour before the sun sets, to make sure you have room in the parking lot. The road itself is part of the experience, winding through landscapes of staggering vastness.
