KASHIMA JINGŪ
It is one of the three most important shrines in Kantō. Dedicated to the mythological figure of Takemikazuchi, it was founded in 660 BC by Emperor Jimmu. Much of this shrine is said to have been rebuilt in the 17th century. The beautifully red Rōmon Gate is one of the most imposing gates in the country. It is within the walls of this temple that the earthquake-retaining stone, the Kaname Ishi (keystone), is located. You can see one end sticking out of the ground. The part hidden in the ground would prevent a dragon from moving.
