The Historical Archives is located on the waterfront, Kaigan-dōri, in the former British Consulate General. This museum has an impressive collection of documents relating to the opening of Japan. It displays documents on the history of Yokohama from the late Edo period to the early Showa period. It is probably the most interesting history museum in the city for a foreigner, as many explanations are offered in English.
