It is the terminus of the railway. From Okutama Station, it is advisable to visit the Nippara Stalactite Cave, which is about 30 minutes away by bus. It is the largest cave in Kantō and is illuminated for over 300m. The southern shore of Lake Okutama-ko was artificially created after a dam was built to supply Tōkyō with drinking water, while on the northern shore, the blooming of over six thousand cherry trees in April is most spectacular. Not to be missed.
