The Mashiko Ceramic Art Museum collects and exhibits works by representative Mashiko potters, such as Shoji Hamada and Tatsuzo Shimaoka, as well as potters with links to Hamada. The British ceramist Bernard Leach, who had exchanges with Hamada, is also exhibited, as well as some Western artists. The place organizes 3 to 4 exhibitions per year, which are dedicated to modern Japanese and foreign ceramics.
