Temple built in 780 just before the court leaves Nara. In the Kō-dō, a magnificent statue (Gigei-ten), which is apparently "the only one in Japan to represent the Divinity who presides over the dance arts". This statue, dating from the th century, is carried out in dry lacquer. Burned, it was restored in the th century by Cdcult and only its head dates from the Nara period.

Temple rather small but worth the detour if you have time, Zen gardens around the park are also interesting.
