You will have to climb the long staircase that leads to the main hall. It is here that a panoramic view of the slopes of Hase-san, covered with pine and cherry trees, and the magnificent sculpture of Kannon is offered to all those who have made the effort. The temple was founded in 686 and the Kannon-dō, the main building, was rebuilt in 1650. The statue of Kannon, made of camphor wood, is 12 meters high. April travelers, will be lucky to see the cherry blossoms and, a few days later, the peonies.
