The house has been open for over 70 years. The specialty is the kitsune udon typical of Ōsaka, or the nabe udon, small pots concocted from seasonal vegetables and meats. Although the front invites you to travel, the interior is quite basic. But it's still a great place to eat on a budget at lunchtime, without sacrificing quality, as you stroll through this lively neighborhood. After your meal, wander into the little alley to the left of the restaurant, which will transport you back to Showa-era Japan.
