With its peculiar shape of tsuzumi (traditional Japanese drum) slightly deformed, this red iron tower has become the symbol of the city. It was built in 1963 by the architectural firm Nikken Sekkei. From the top of its 108 meters, a sacred figure in the Buddhist religion, an observation platform allows visitors to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of Mount Rokkō, Awaji Island and the city of Kōbe. On the3rd floor, there is a 360° rotating café. It is also a communication tower.
